december 27, 2021 • supporting elephant revival • norman, oklahoma
2:00-4:00 PM • Tickets $20 • CANCELLED
We were beyond honored to be asked to support Elephant Revival members Bonnie Paine, Daniel Rodriguez, and Anna Paine (of My Tea Kind) for an afternoon of music. We first saw this band at the Four Corners Folk Festival in Pagosa Springs, Colorado and fell in love with them. Their music and energy are amazing! If you haven't already heard and fallen in love with them too, we just know you will. Unfortunately, due to snow, rain, and ice, the show was cancelled. We hope to reschedule later in the year.

The Woody Guthrie Tribute is a star-studded even at The Blue Door and predictably sold out. We were honored to be a part of remembering one of America's great folk heroes by bringing some of his music to Oklahoma's iconic listening room. The song we sang was "Love Thyself," sung with three-part harmony. We loved that.

RECORDING STUDIO SINGLE
Remember those songs that didn't quite fit on our EP due to style or tone? Yes, those. Well, we'll be recording some singles periodically to give such songs good homes (yours!). On this particular day, we started recording one of everyone's favorite songs, "Abraham," with Brine Webb at Lunar Manor Studio. We also recorded two other songs we think you'll love. Some regard "Abraham" as our signature song; we can't deny it has a powerful vibe. We can't wait to get it recorded and wafting through your speakers in the next few months.

8-9 PM • $5 ADMISSION • 224 1/2 S. Division Street, Guthrie, OK 73044
We had one of the best nights we've ever had in Guthrie, Oklahoma, right outside Hoboken Coffee Roasters. Gabriel Hancock will started at 7 PM and we picked up where he left off. We had looked forward to this night with a lot of excitement and a little concern: it was a ticketed show and the organizers wanted to see a good turnout. What would Guthrie, Oklahoma do? We were thrilled beyond words--and almost beyond song--to see over 300 people turn out and fill the Hoboken Coffee Roaster parking lot! We rarely have such an attentive and appreciative crowd. Little kids danced in front of the stage, there was great food from the food trucks, and the suds and coffee flowed. Magic, we tell ya, pure magic.

We've been at the Guthrie Escape! Festival every year since we first began playing publicly, and we love that place. We can't get us enough Guthrie, Oklahoma! This day was no exception, and we received much good feedback and made new friends and fans all day. We also took some pretty good photos and had some delicious Italian food at Roma's.

8:00 PM-8:45 PM • Lion's Park • Corner of Flood & Symmes
We warmed up the stage for our hometown folks at one of Norman, Oklahoma's biggest festivals last weekend! This was our first year to play this festival, a big honor because we've gone every year since we were just kids. There's nothing better than being asked to play at a festival you've attended religiously, much less one at which we've admired so many stellar artists in years past.
As well, musicians we love and admire played this same day. So many dreams come true!

10-midnight • 130 S. Cherokee Ave. • Bartlesville, Oklahoma
Tickle us pink over being asked back to play Angelo's Tavern, one of the sweetest venues we've played. Why, you ask? We'll tell you why:
(a) there's actually a stage!
(b) there's an exceptional sound guy (Erich);
(c) the owners and staff know their music and appreciate it;
(d) it's a non-smoking venue but there's a great deck for folks who want a smoke;
(e) the patrons are a heckuva lot of FUN!
These are just our top five reasons. There are another 15 reasons but you're going to have to come out to a show to discover the rest of them.

august 8 • the deli • norman, oklahoma
8-10 PM • 309 White Street • Norman, Oklahoma
What is it about The Deli and so many of our milestones? We played in July to commemorate losing our collective wisdom teeth (which we didn't lose yet), and then we played only days after our 18th birthdays. This particular night was also the evening of the day on which we interred out friend Ruth's ashes at the cemetery. We were honored to have her husband, parents, and brother (who is also our friend) Russ there with us.
All in all, it was a good show. Life itself is a good reminder of how fragile all our connections are. We've been very lucky to have so many good people in our lives, and Ruth was one.

The Back Alley Gallery is an all ages music venue featuring local artists and singer-songwriters. They host live shows on Fridays and Saturdays, and we were thrilled to return! This is one of our favorite venues. The owners are amazing and love people and music. The sound is good, there are refreshments sold; it's a great little listening room. Come out sometime and listen to some live music. You won't regret it.

We can never get too much of The Deli. We returned after an absence of few months on the last Friday night of July. It was a good show for a great crowd. We always enjoy a good turn out and brought several new songs.
There was even a customer (escorted out) who wanted to arrange our hair. Yewww.

We teamed up with some of our favorite artists to bring folks a night of good music. We like the intimate space at The Paramount and enjoyed the evening with friends and family.

We couldn't have been more excited to finally be playing the best festival in Oklahoma for real roots music listeners: The Woody Guthrie Folk Festival! Some of the best names in red dirt and Americana music played. We were beside ourselves with joy to be playing alongside these folks and had to pinch each other to prove it wasn't a dream. We got to play on what would have been our mom and dad's wedding anniversary, an extra special blessing.
Thank you, Okemah, Oklahoma and all the welcoming musicians and living legends who welcomed us into your midst. This was an experience we'll never forget, and we were glad to participate and contribute.

This was our first night to bring our music to Scratch Kitchen & Cocktails in Norman. Our sister just happens to be the head chef over there, so if you haven't ever eaten at Scratch or had one of their delicious original cocktails, you're in for a treat. It was a stormy but beautiful summer's night and we were happy that so many people came out to enjoy the music.

June 20, 2022 • Blue Moon Summer Solstice Celebration • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
9-11 PM • Blue Moon House • Oklahoma City, OK
This annual concert celebration and full moon bash event is a giant BYOB potluck that proved to be one of the best shows we played all year. The series has featured the likes of Samantha Crain and Parker Millsap, so we were honored to have been asked to play.
We had never met the hosts before, but took the word of our good friend Russ that we'd be transported in this place. Wow, he wasn't mistaken. There's something so wonderfully intimate about playing in a small room crammed full of people who are there to hear music. People really listen during house concerts. They want to understand every word. When they like what you sang or played, they regularly and often shout it out as you're singing, or playing. They tell you when they love you. They talk to you afterward. Fellow musicians give you tips and everyone swaps stories.
Another fantastic part of the night was hearing the work of poet Lauren Zuniga. She's nothing short of amazing, making us gasp with delight, she was provocative, funny, and also brought us to tears. We don't think there's a better way to spend an evening. As we walked back to our car with instrument cases in tow, one of us expressed the group's feeling in a nutshell, saying, "This show made me remember why I'm doing this in the first place." Thank you, Blue Moon friends.

We joined the Linwood residents for their shindig and played our music for a few hours on a beautiful Oklahoma summer's night. Thanks for having us, neighbors!

June 17, 2022 • Stillwater Public Library • Stillwater, Oklahoma
2:30-3:15 PM • Stillwater Public Library • 1107 S. Duck St., Stillwater, OK 74074
The Stillwater Public Library provides summer programs for children up to 6th grade and teens grades 6-12. Their theme for kids this summer was heroism and for teens it was "Unmask." We were pleased to be able to pinch hit for the scheduled band, who couldn't make it up to Stillwater but knew we'd jump at the chance to play music among a lot of books. We love playing for kids; they're appreciative, keep (bad) time by thumping anything or anyone nearby, and often lie down on the floor while listening.

7-11 PM • 110 E. Main St. • Norman, OK
We were honored to play this memorial benefit show in honor of Sarah Owen, a friend of music and everyone she met who died too young. There is much we could say about Sarah, including that she was a generous soul with a big heart, one who loved life, and one of the biggest Batman fans we know (outside our older sister, Katie!). Many wore Batman t-shirts and clothing in remembrance of Sarah.
Proceeds went to Second Chance Animal Sanctuary.

We enjoyed another wonderful evening at Native Spirits Winery on a spectacular Oklahoma day. Award-winning wines, yummy snacks, and a show-stopping sunset combined to make it a very fulfilling night, indeed. The room was as full as we've ever seen it, even more than we could have imagined seeing it, and patrons were generous with tips. It was a great night for all. We threw open the doors and howled at the moon together!

May 30, 2022 • Made in Oklahoma Wine, Beer, & Food Festival • Midwest City, Oklahoma
2:00-2:50 PM • Inside Stage • Reed Conference Center • Midwest City, OK
We witnessed agritourism at its finest at the Midwest City 2015 Made in Oklahoma Wine, Beer and Food Festival on May 30. This was our second year at this family-friendly event hosted at the Sheraton Reed Conference Center. There were wine and beer samples for adults from local producers, along with food tastings and culinary delights for all ages from several of Oklahoma’s premier restaurants. Besides all this, there was home-grown, Oklahoma music. We played on the food stage, and tried to keep our Momager from using up all our tasting tokens for beer.
This photo captured the intent interest of a wee fan; we love them the best of all, because they don't hesitate to come right up to the stage, do interpretive dances, or sing along even when they don't know the words. That's uninhibited joy at its finest.

4-5 PM Picasso Stage • 5:15 PM Beer Garden Stage • Paseo Arts District, NW 30th & Dewey
We played not once, but twice at the Paseo Arts Festival. In spite of record rains, people came out in droves and we had an almost full audience at our stage, making many new fans and friends. People generously tipped us when we mentioned our Kickstarter project for our upcoming EP, and after the shows our "likes" and follows in social media also increased significantly. It's thrilling and humbling at the same time to have our music so well-received. One gentleman came up afterward and told our manager that he once saw a passionate, talented singer-songwriter at a small cafe in Arkansas. He said her passion for her craft was palpable and that he hadn't seen that sort of talent, chemistry on stage, or love since then. The singer's name? Gillian Welch. One of our heroes! We were more than flattered. Thank you, kind gentleman, for your words.

7-9 PM • The Deli • 309 White St., Norman, OK
It was that time of the month again for the Annie Oakley gals. You know--time to play THE DELI! Lots of friends got their hand-clapping, toe-tapping, two-stepping selves out the door and down to Campus Corner to celebrate the end of school with us.
Our under-age friends stood outside and pressed their noses against the glass, calling out their favorite Annie Oakley tunes so we'd play them. Yes, we sometimes blew kisses, too.

May 16, 2022 • Will on the Hill Festival • Will Rogers Memorial Museum • Claremore, Oklahoma
7-8 PM • 1720 West Will Rogers Blvd., Claremore, Oklahoma
Will Rogers (1879-1935) was a famous American humorist and cowboy philosopher, an actor, radio commentator, newspaper columnist, AND trick roper! He was undoubtedly one of Oklahoma's most famous sons, and a contemporary of our heroine, Annie Oakley. Will Rogers actually met Annie Oakley toward the end of her life. After meeting and talking with her, he said he felt he had met "an angel." We love that.
We were pleased to support Oklahoma-born singer-songwriter Beau Jennings at this event honoring Will Rogers. Beau brought songs from his new album, Verdigris, which musically retraces many of Will Rogers' steps.
For this event, Sophia and Grace wrote a song called "Everything's Funny" about Will Rogers and the hardships he suffered. It's a lovely song that we hope to record later this year for a project the Song Writers Association of Norman is doing.

Last year was our first year at Mayfest, and we had a great time! We were eager to come back and hang out with our Tulsa friends again (namely, everyone who came out for the festival)! We got to see our friend Bob, one of the best music writers and music organizers we have ever met. He predicted we'd take off in 2015, and he was right. This year we will actually be paid to play! WOOHOO! Thank you, all patrons of the arts who contribute to these festivals. You help us to put gas in the car and buy more guitar strings and stuff.

2-3 PM • Downtown El Reno, Oklahoma
The El Reno Fried Onion Burger Day Festival is a long-standing tradition in this great Oklahoma town. Mama Oakley graduated from high school in El Reno, and our Grandma and Grandpa still live there, so we were SUPER excited about playing the festival this year. El Reno is famous for its fried onion burgers and coneys, and people drive in from all over just to eat them. If you haven't come out for this true Okie event, then you should. At the festival there's great food, music, and lots for the whole family to do. El Reno is just a hop, skip, and a jump away, so there's no good excuse for missing this fun event.

Noon-12:30 PM • Downtown Oklahoma City
We officially kicked off the festival season with our performance at the Oklahoma City Festival of the Arts. Sophia, Grace, and Nia took to the stage and gave Gabee a much-deserved break. We brought festival goers a great set of original music and (as always!) had so much FUN! The weather was truly perfect, but even better were the crowd, stage manager (thank you, Jennifer!) and exceptional sound fella, Craig. After our performance, a line of people actually formed to get us to sign CDs and talk to us! We about fainted with joy and even a little embarrassment. Wow, we are having such generous responses to our music. We hardly know how to act or what to say except thank you so much for liking our music. We love you!

April 25, 2022 • Norman Music Festival • Norman, Oklahoma
2:30-3:15 PM • Depot Stage • 200 S. Jones Ave., Norman, OK
We're were beyond excited to play the Fowler Honda Depot Stage at the 8th annual Norman Music Festival! Everything was perfect--we even got a little preview of summer with 85 degree weather. As we tuned up and did our sound check, we could see people coming our way. As we started playing, they just kept coming! What a heady experience, to stand up on the stage and look out and see hundreds of faces, so many of them familiar. Friends, family, fans. Wow! The adrenaline rush and joy of it all overwhelmed us. We put everything into our performance and felt so drained, exhausted, but happy and buzzed for the rest of the day! John Calvin Abney played after us, and it was awesome to see him come out and stand in front of the stage and applaud for us! We've so often been at his shows and been big fans of his for years, so this was a real treat. We felt it was a coming-of-age experience, and can't thank the Norman Arts & Humanities Council, the Fowler auto group, and the board and volunteers at NMF enough. Thank you so much for having us. We hope to see you all next year!

As we've taken to the road, we've pondered the idea of some day having a van or RV for tours, so it was a happy circumstance when we were given the opportunity to play the first annual Campfire Cookout and Concert at Floyd's RVs. The cookout started at 5 PM, and music at 7 PM. Best of all, it was free! We had a great time meeting the Floyd family and going through some of the RVs. Some day, some day.

April 18, 2022 • New York Pizza & Pasta • Norman, Oklahoma
10 PM-midnight • 217 W. Boyd St., Norman, OK
We had such a great time playing at New York Pizza & Pasta in February that we were tickled pink to be asked to return. The spaghetti and meatballs and the pizzas here are heavenly. We also hear that the pitchers are the most reasonably priced in town. Once again we had a fun-filled night and were tickled pink that so many people came out for the evening.

March 28, 2022 • Grandad's Bar • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
7 PM • Rock and Roll Camp for Girls Fundraiser • $5 Door • 317 NW 23rd St • Oklahoma City
Oklahoma's own Carter Sampson has started a non-profit music camp for girls, and we're happy to be a part of it. The non-profit had a fund raiser at Grandad's Bar and we got to play alongside some of Oklahoma's favorite female artists, such as Willow Way, Oh! Johnny Girls, Carter Sampson, and Ali Harter. We raised enough money for ten scholarships to the camp, which is pretty darn cool.

March 27, 2022 • Angelo's Tavern • Bartlesville, Oklahoma
10-12 PM • 130 S. Cherokee Ave., Bartlesville, Oklahoma
Our first time to play in Bartlesville and at Angelo's Tavern, and we weren't disappointed! Plenty of folks turned out and we made some new friends. We'll be going back on June 27, so if you live in the area please come and enjoy this great venue with us. We rarely get better sound than we had that night; the place is definitely music friendly.

7:30-10:00 PM • 115 N. 2nd Street, Guthrie, Oklahoma • Tickets $12
We helped Prairie Gothic throw a special St. Patrick's Day party with our favorite Canadian cowboy Del Barber! We played from 7:30-8:45 PM, followed by Del. This was a Saint Patty's Day we were glad to celebrate, for sure.

March 13, 2022 • Native Spirits Winery • Norman, Oklahoma
7:30-10:00 PM • 10500 East Lindsey Street, Norman, OK
This was our first time to play at Native Spirits and we had a great time! Though it poured rain much of the day, we still had a good turn out, and the folks at Native Spirits couldn't have been more welcoming. We'll be returning to the winery in June, so mark that date on your calendars and prepare to enjoy some good Oklahoma wine and music.

8-10 PM • The Deli • 309 White St., Norman, OK
Have we mentioned that we love The Deli, and everyone in it? Jared, the sound genius ... the bartenders (even though we only drink apple juice) ... the regulars ... everyone. We've never failed to have a good show and a good time at this place that calls itself the best dive bar in Norman. And it is the best. And it's where we were for the free show this night. This was a coming-of-age of sorts for us, as we ran our own sound (almost) without a hitch, and requiring only one phone call to Jared, the sound guru. He's also known as the "Quincy Jones" of The Deli, and if you know what Quincy Jones did for Michael Jackson, then you'll show your proper respect to Jared. We sometimes don't--but we're teenagers, see?

February 27, 2022 • The Bottle Cap Barn • Edmond, Oklahoma
7 PM Potluck • 8:00 PM Show • 3600 Rogers Drive, Edmond, OK 73013
We were honored--well, we almost fainted, actually--to be asked to open for Grant Peeples at The Bottle Cap Barn for his show. The very first time we ever played in public, by some strange coincidence, Grant was there. This man is a legend, "a guitar-slinging poet." We were lucky enough to see him again in July 2014, and darned if he didn't ask us to open for him at one of our favorite places EVER, the Bottle Cap Barn! Thank goodness for smelling salts, or we'd still be out for the count. We went early and shared in the potluck dinner at The Bottle Cap main house. It was so warm and cozy and beautiful, and (as always) hosts Ben and Alicia were just marvelous.

We were super excited about playing some of our new songs for listeners, and having a couple of songs from our EP played as well. February 20, 2022 • The Blue Door • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
Doors 7:30 PM • Show 8:00 PM • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
We were thrilled to have been asked to support Hardin Burns at The Blue Door tonight. The Blue Door is musician's paradise, where patrons come to listen to the music, and the sound and venue are so good that people can actually hear the lyrics. The iconic owner, Greg Johnson, is a lover of quality music that transcends trends and speaks eloquently to the issues besetting society. He's our curmudgeonly hero, so being asked to play here again was better than going to prom. We even thought about wearing prom dresses. Andrew Hardin and Jeannie Burns told us that two years ago, Parker Millsap opened for them at the Blue Door, and we considered that a good omen. Thank you for having us as your guests.

February 13, 2022 • Michelangelo's • Norman, Oklahoma
7-9 PM • Michelangelo's • Norman, Oklahoma
We returned to Michelangelo's for Art Walk to celebrate everyone's favorite lovey-dovey holiday: Valentine's Day! We're always happy to play at what feels like our home away from home. The place was so packed with our dear friends that it began to feel like Norman Music Festival last year (or the year before)! Thank you, Michael, for having us again, and for all your fine chocolates.

This was such a fun night, because The Damn Quails played the late show at The Deli. We get to bask in a little bit of their glory and had a great show! Many of our loyal regulars came out early to see us, and stayed for a great night with one of Oklahoma's best treasures and Americana's hottest bands!

January 24, 2022 • New York Pizza • Norman, Oklahoma
9-11 PM • FREE • 217 W. Boyd Street • Campus Corner in Norman, Oklahoma
We were pleased to support New York Pizza & Pasta as they launched a new winter music series on Saturday nights. Admission is free, and you don't have to be 21+ to come out to hear us play! People brought their appetites for food and music, and there were plenty of both on this winter's night. There's a good bar (we hear), and as an added bonus, our brother works there!

January 17, 2022 • Back Alley Gallery • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
9:00 PM • $5.00 cover • 5026 A N. May Ave. • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
The Back Alley Gallery is a music venue featuring local artists and singer-songwriters. They host live shows on Fridays and Saturdays, and we were excited about playing at their place for the first time tonight. We were especially excited to team up with another all-girl Americana and folk band, Judith, who started the night off for us. Those ladies were amazing! Together, we brought a great show to a packed venue in spite of poor Grace's lingering cold. We can't wait to go back!

The Blue Note Lounge has been around longer than our mom -- and that's saying something! Serving up cool drinks and music since 1951, The Blue Note is an iconic bar and music venue to which we're honored to bring our music. We started the new year right by joining new and old friends alike to ring in a new year with music and libations. We were thrilled to have Kyle Reid, David Leach, and Daniel Foulks join us to play the late set. This was a must-see show!

It was a thrill to be on the radio for the first time tonight on KOSU Radio! DJ's Grace Gordon and Ryan LaCroix gave Annie Oakley a big welcome and made our day--and week! And perhaps entire month! Thanks, Grace and Ryan, we appreciate you and all you do for music in Oklahoma.

January 3, 2022 • Jazmo'z Bourbon Street Cafe • Bricktown
6:00 - 9:00 PM • 100 E. California St. • Oklahoma City, Oklahoma
This was a good night to get out of the house and get away from the Christmas decorations we still hadn't quite finished taking down. Friends and family came out and relaxed over a nice meal they didn't have to cook or clean up. We played some good music but spent the night dodging wait staff bustling in and out of the kitchen and traipsing across our make-do 'stage.' One of the many occupational hazards of being a musician. Or a waiter.
The crab dip at Jazmo'z more than makes up for the hazards, though.
